Here’s the Top Stock in My Quant System As we begin the fourth quarter tomorrow – by far the best quarter of the year for stocks – I thought I would do something I can’t do very often. I want to tell you the top-ranked stock in my Quantum Edge system. It’s actually the same stock that topped the rankings exactly three months ago, which isn’t as surprising as you might think. Great companies stay great companies. Same with great stocks. And new highs almost always lead to more new highs. We’ve seen that firsthand with Arista Networks (ANET), which made its latest all-time high on Thursday. I recommended the stock in TradeSmith Investment Report last July, and it has shot up 132% since then. Based on the data, more gains are likely… but perhaps more in the long term than short term.

My ideal buy range is 70 to 85, whereas scores in the 90s often indicate a pullback may be in the offing. In ANET’s case, the fundamental and technical scores are also 91. It’s rare to see that much strength across the board. If any stock can sustain that strength, it’s ANET. Arista Networks is a great company operating in the great theme of cloud networking. Sales have grown 33.8% and 36.5% the last one and three years. Earnings have averaged 35.7% growth each of the last five years, with analysts looking for another 19% growth this year. Growth should stay strong and even accelerate in the future as networking demands increase with the rapid adoption of artificial intelligence. AI demands faster, more reliable networking, and Arista Networks delivers it. Arista keeps 35.6 cents of every dollar it brings in, which is a healthy profit margin. And it has virtually no debt to speak of, which is even more important when interest rates are high like now. Looking at the technicals, ANET checks every box in my analysis – from trading near one-year and three-month highs to above key moving averages to strong internals. With those muscular fundamentals and technicals, I also need to see evidence that Big Money is buying. And ANET generates plenty of these “green light” Big Money buy signals we love to see. These are truly elite stocks – the highest-rated stocks with Big Money pouring in. Institutions and hedge funds pay good money for this list, so that’s why I can’t share the whole thing, but it confirms ANET’s status as one of the strongest stocks in the market heading into the fourth quarter. ANET is above our buy limit in TradeSmith Investment Report and may even be a little overextended at the moment. But that data is so strong that higher prices over time are probable. These are the kinds of stocks you want to own anytime, but especially heading into the strongest time of the year.
