Everywhere people ran to hide last week got sold on Friday. |
3 weeks ago nobody would touch a bond, and then money poured into them because anything looked safer than a semiconductor. |
Consumer staples ran 13% straight up, and Walmart started trading like a tech stock. |
Then Friday hit, and staples, healthcare and the financials all got sold in the same session. |
That is what it looks like when the hiding spots run out. |
Last week the options market priced a $165 move in the S&P and the market barely used it. |
Now it has priced almost the same move for the 5 sessions that start tomorrow at 9:30 ET, into a Fed meeting and 3 of the biggest earnings reports of the year, and a market that sits on a number like that and gets handed it again is a loaded gun. |
