Intel raised $20 billion in a successful share sale, a third more than it was targeting, pointing to resilient investor demand for companies in the artificial intelligence supply chain. In a further test of that appetite, Nvidia confirmed it’s tapping six Wall Street firms for a $500 billion funding commitment And Anthropic struck a $9.1 billion deal with Bitcoin miner Riot Platforms for additional AI data center capacity. Oil rose as Donald Trump hardened his stance toward Iran, saying the Islamic Republic must pay reparations for past attacks. Higher oil prices triggered renewed inflation jitters in financial markets, with bond yields rising. The Federal Reserve’s Beth Hammack said a number of rate hikes may be needed to bring inflation down to the 2% target. Zoltan Mamdani’s pied-à-terre tax was temporarily blocked by a state court judge on Staten Island after a group of homeowners argued its introduction was mishandled. The levy, signed into law in May by Governor Kathy Hochul, targets single-family homes worth $5 million or more and apartments worth $1 million or more.
