The single use materials used on cards are contributing to pollution, so they decided to offer Green Payment Cards made from recycled PVC, which once expired will be received and recycled into a new card. Correspondence will be managed digitally and delivery of the card is made in person to reduce paper usage. Smaller card chips are used to minimize resource consumption. GreenPay's initiatives aim to minimize the environmental footprint of payment cards and promote sustainability in the banking industry.
The Central Bank of Nigeria has directed four fintech companies to halt new customer onboarding, enforcing KYC compliance in crypto and traditional investing.
