Tesla CarPlay update

Hey everyone, it's Mark. Tesla's plan to start supporting CarPlay in its vehicles has been held back by the need for changes in iOS 26's Maps app. Also: Apple hits fresh snags with its attempt to revamp Siri; new details on iOS 27; and some fun news about the upcoming low-cost MacBook.

Last year, Tesla Inc. embarked on a plan to bring Apple Inc.'s CarPlay system to its vehicles as early as the end of 2025. At the time, sales were soft, and the car company faced pressure to boost demand. Chief Executive Officer Elon Musk also was aiming to secure a pay package valued at roughly $1 trillion.

Believe it or not, adding CarPlay was seen as a key piece in making that happen. The iPhone-like interface is a must-have item for many buyers, and Tesla could finally give them what they wanted. Just as consumers are glued to their iPhones, they are equally attached to CarPlay...
