FDA Takes Action Against Synthetic Kratom Imposters -  What Does This Mean?   The FDA announced enforcement actions against seven companies that were illegally selling products containing synthetic 7-hydroxymitragynine (7-OH), a highly concentrated compound that doesn't naturally occur in Kratom at those levels.    These aren't traditional Kratom products. They're lab-altered creations, often found in certain tablets, gummies, and shots. These items contain unnaturally high levels of a single alkaloid (7-OH), which can be a safety concern.   Let's be clear: This has nothing to do with natural Kratom leaf or full-spectrum Kratom products like the ones we offer at Happy Hippo.   The FDA is cracking down specifically on synthetically boosted products that contain dangerously high concentrations of 7-OH. These versions can be 10 to 40 times stronger than morphine… and a far cry from the natural plant we know and love.   Kratom leaves naturally contain a wide mix of alkaloids that work together. 7-OH only shows up in trace amounts (typically far below 1%). But when it's isolated, manufactured, and cranked up in strength, it's no longer a balanced plant product. It becomes something else entirely.
