A new budget Pixel phone: Google on Wednesday unveiled a new budget phone, the $499 Pixel 9a. The announcement comes weeks after Apple's entry-level iPhone 16e went on sale starting at $599. Shoppers in that price band are likely to compare the two, with the Pixel 9a having a leg up on camera capabilities in particular. A new premium Huawei phone: Huawei's new Pura X flip phone starts at more than $1,000 and delivers an unconventional form factor plus Huawei's in-house operating system called HarmonyOS. It's the most substantial attempt at building a third mobile ecosystem outside of Apple's iPhone and Google's Android realms. Upcoming Ukrainian IPO: Veon subsidiary Kyivstar has agreed to buy Ukrainian ride-hailing and delivery platform Uklon, expanding the offering of the country's largest mobile operator ahead of its New York listing. | |
