The only pretty sector in an ugly market right now

Not *everything* is tanking… but most things are

🤔 My Thoughts

It’s no secret that gold is soaring…

But gold itself is not “an investment.” There’s no dividend or yield. You don’t get paid to hold it.

There’s no CEO of gold, and no board, and no future product releases or potential mergers.

Of course you can say the same thing about Bitcoin - and you’d be right.

And in both gold and crypto, you can trade mining stocks that behave more like stocks… and do often pay dividends…

But these assets are most valuable as a store of value, as a hedge.

But there is one sector that’s still showing promise right now - defense stocks.

President Trump and Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth have both said they want a record-breaking trillion dollar Pentagon budget, even as the government looks to aggressively trim the budget elsewhere.

Boeing has risen on the announcement that it will be making the next generation of fighter jets, and Lockheed Martin reported a higher first-quarter profit on Tuesday and reaffirmed its forecasts for the year on the back of resilient demand for its missile systems and fighter jets.

Shares of Lockheed were up 3% in pre-market trading on Tuesday as the company posted earnings per share of $7.28 beating Wall Street analyst expectations of $6.34.

The fact is that military spending will always be a priority, no matter how ugly the economy gets.

And this is good for giants like Lockheed and Boeing… and it’s also good for a lesser-known defense contractor that I’ll talk about on today’s live broadcast at 11:30. Tune in right here.
