ON DECK FOR TODAY’S VIP TRADE ROOM: Monday-Friday: noon ET What were the clues pointing to Monday’s sell-off, what’s the strongest chip stock, are mega-caps still outperforming RSP, and are earnings estimates rising or falling? Plus, volatility, low-hanging fruit and fast-moving stocks! JOIN US HERE! Gap Trades Galore? How Trump, the Fed and Earnings Could Rock the Market After Monday’s Sell-Off The BIG question we’re trying to answer today is whether or not the market is gearing up to rally, or if it will pull back… There are a lot of factors we need to consider, so we’ll discuss the biggest ones during this morning’s session. If the market does indeed start to rally, we’ll have a lot of gap trades to take advantage of. The Dow is lagging a little but we are looking OK premarket with the Nasdaq up about 50 points — not a ton but it’s better than a sharp stick in the eye. We have some Fed data in the form of Durable Goods at 8:30 a.m. ET, and then Consumer Confidence at 10 a.m. ET. The next Federal Open Market Committee meeting also begins today, with the latest rate decision coming at 2 p.m. ET on Wednesday… And that’s when sparks could begin to fly in regard to what the Fed does, and what Donald Trump wants. He’s demanding rate cuts while the Fed has been hinting it doesn’t see any cuts anytime soon. As a matter of fact, I’m hosting a very special session to discuss this in-depth at 2 p.m. ET — don’t be late! We’re also hitting the meat of earnings season with Boeing (BA), General Motors (GM) and more reporting this morning ahead of Starbucks (SBUX) and more after the close. Then Wednesday, the big boys really get moving with Tesla (TSLA), Meta Platforms (META), Microsoft (MSFT) and more! Emergency “State of the Market” Briefing this Tuesday Just eight days into Trump's presidency, his clash with Fed Chair Powell could trigger a major market move come Wednesday. 🎥 LIVE TRADE ROOM ACCESS 🎥 Join me and dozens of traders each day inside my LIVE VIP Trade Room! While I try to get on your premarket YouTube channel each morning, the broadcast often happens in the middle of preparing breakfast for the family. I am the short order cook and chief dish washer. Getting them earlier means I can look at the charts Sunday evening and be ready to hit the ground when the markets open on Monday. I usually do get to watch YouTube premarket but it is often later in the day before I am able to do so. Just some feedback from a lifer. Thanks. — Rick Follow along and join the conversation for real-time analysis, trade ideas, market insights and more!
