The chief executive of Auckland Airport is worried about the industry's lack of progress toward decarbonization. New Zealand, Australia and neighboring Pacific nations need to address the lack of so-called sustainable aviation fuels together because the region is so distant from Europe and North America making our emissions loads bigger, CEO Carrie Hurihanganui said in an interview with Bloomberg. What happened overnight

It's at best, a longshot, but one that's emerged among a group of die-hard bond traders — that the Federal Reserve's next move on interest rates will be up, not down. Israel and Hamas entered into a ceasefire, leading to the release of three female hostages held in Gaza. Israel will prepare to transfer 90 Palestinian prisoners, 30 for each hostage released. The US-backed deal stipulates that 33 hostages should be freed during the six-week truce. TikTok started restoring service in the US after Donald Trump said he'd extend a deadline to sell the company after he takes office Monday. The app went dark Saturday night and Apple and Google's app stores removed the platform to avoid penalties. Trump said he'd seek a joint venture in which US-based owners take a 50% stake. Donald Trump's return to power has investors sweating over which Chinese companies will be targeted by US sanctions or trade restrictions. A long-ignored Pentagon watch list is now drawing the attention of traders seeking clues about who might be next.
