They now support transfers of 24 cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin and Ethereum. The feature was launched on October 1, 2024, and aims to simplify self-custody and access to decentralized finance (DeFi) while ensuring European regulatory compliance. Users can transfer their crypto holdings to external wallets and major exchanges like Binance. Robinhood Crypto offers a 1% deposit match-up on all the crypto a user transfers for a limited time. They are also planning to introduce features like staking, lending, and potentially more coins for trading and transfers in Europe Motier Ventures Unveils La Maison Motier Ventures has unveiled an entrepreneurship center named La Maison, a community space for the French tech ecosystem in Paris, near the Garnier Opera. La Maison is designed to provide a space for technology companies to conduct agreements, host events, and showcase advancements. To support emerging companies with future potential, encourage creativity, and facilitate connections in the tech industry. La Maison is expected to open in 2025. The facility will have three upper floors for meetings and a social-focused floor, as well as a fourth floor for events such as parties, gatherings, and hackathons. Orion: Meta's AR Glasses that Could Replace Your Phone Meta has teased their first augmented reality (AR) glasses called Orion, which they believe could replace smartphones in the future. Meta has showcased the potential of AR glasses in replacing smartphones and improving user interactions with the environment. The AR glasses are not commercially available yet, with only 1,000 units produced for internal testing and demos. Orion AR glasses feature a neural wristband, wireless compute puck, micro LED projectors, and silicon carbide lenses to enable gesture controls, computational processes, and augmented reality experiences. Despite the promising capabilities, Meta still needs to work on improving visuals, reducing size, and making the technology more affordable.
