Just got off the phone with a new client.
They've been in business for 18 years and the owner took 3 minutes to try to describe his perfect customer.
Worse: he really struggled, and even contradicted himself.
This is like trying to catch a fish using a coin as bait:
The fish doesn't care about the value of the coin, it just wants a worm. Just like a human won't spend 15 embarrassing seconds trying to pick up a worm glued to the pavement (cruel, please don't test it).
Websites with low conversion rates are often using the wrong bait to lure their fish, because they've never thought about what their perfect fish looks like.
Anyway, back to the client struggling to define their audience.
In the end, we went through a quick 10-question process to discover exactly who would buy this product. The questions are taken from a blog post one of the Ninjas wrote. It's awesome.
So what are these magic 10 questions, you're wondering?
>> You'll find them in the Buyer Persona Checklist in this post
