Ever driven past a hitchhiker?
Of course you have. Me too.
Is it because you're a bad person?
Maybe ;-)
Or maybe you carried on driving because that hitchhiker offers you nothing but risk. There's risk to your safety, risk of disruption to your journey, risk they might wee in your car...
Yes, these are all small risks. But they're larger risks than if you keep on driving.
On the flipside, what's the benefit of picking up a hitchhiker?
Aside from the warm feeling you get (or could that be their wee?), there are no benefits to you.
So you do what we all do when faced with a decision that has lots of risk and little reward...
Nothing. You do nothing.
