Tech Across the Globe

Nvidia's good-but-not-great results: The company said its new chip design for artificial intelligence work, called Blackwell, generated $11 billion in revenue in the quarter, although the "fastest product ramp" in its history is weighing on profit margins.

Amazon reboots Alexa with AI: Amazon unveiled a long-awaited upgrade to its Alexa digital assistant, which now uses artificial intelligence to generate answers on the fly and do things such as book restaurant reservations and send text messages. In a demonstration, it was capable of engaging in a back-and-forth conversation, whereas previously it was limited to reciting prewritten responses.

Apple ends Indonesian standoff: Apple signed an agreement to invest in Indonesia, ending a five-month deadlock that prevented the company from selling the iPhone 16 in the country. The agreement includes the establishment of a plant to produce AirTags.

Revalued

AI cloud computing firm CoreWeave is said to be considering an initial public offering that may raise about $4 billion and value the company at more than $35 billion. The company is a key customer of Nvidia's powerful chips for artificial intelligence and is using them to build data centers for AI-related computing.
